What is Yoga?

What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of stretching and strengthening the core muscles of
the body such as the abdomen, back and neck. Initially developed by
Joseph Pilates this method builds upon the core areas of the body that are
commonly associated with back pain and muscular discomfort.
Like a yoga class, an instructor leads students through a
sequence
of flowing movements combined with concentration on these movements to achieve
the mind body connection.
What is Cycling?
Cycling
is a dynamic exercise activity that uses a stationary bike and
is led by an instructor who helps students visualize the scenery and
terrain they encounter during their class.
Goals are set according to your target heart rate.
These classes are a great cardiovascular workout.
You can burn calories and tone legs in a cycling class. To
participate, a heart rate monitor is highly recommended so you may
keep track of your progress.
What
is Pilates Based Personal Training?
This
highly effective method of pilates based personal training uses a
variety of equipment including light weights, resistance training,
exercise balls and bands to achieve toning and firming.

I’m a beginner/I’m experienced….Is EYS for me?
In either case the answer is absolutely!
Here at EYS we offer a variety of classes that will suit any
level of student. We are beginner friendly and offer classes and
instructors that reflect that.
What
should I know before taking a yoga or Pilates class?
Some
general rules for these classes are:
Please
arrive and check in 15 minutes prior to class start.
Please
do not wear any perfumes or colognes.
It
is best to take class on an empty stomach.
Wear
non restrictive, comfortable clothes.
Please,
no cell phones and no shoes in the yoga room.
Always
be conscious of your body. If a pose is uncomfortable ask the teacher
for modifications or just rest until the next pose.
